Video sequences of the same man in different situations cross the screen. The flow of images is accompanied by a number of familiar fragments of typical first acquaintance conversations. The state of acute infatuation unrolls like a déjà-vu. The thinking function has been switched off, the only words that are spoken are cliché-ridden phrases. A state of total confusion sets in, incoherent pictures in sharply contrasting colours edited one after the other. And then a dizzy making bliss descends through the aesthetic images. The overwhelming, quite irrational attraction which is generated by a coup de foudre is expressed, both in pictures and in words, in a very direct and sensual way.
But there is also the essential question about human destiny and the secret chemistry of love which in this LOVE STORY is raised in a tender, suggestive and aesthetic manner.
