ZONE is a piece about sorrow. The chemistry, created by the intense communication between allied souls, is an exciting element in the process.
ZONE is a three-dimensional and room-filling image-installation, in which the artist has video recordings and stationary photographic pictures interfere. For both, photographs and video, she recorded one solitary figure. The 5 video sequences are recordings of the dancer/ choreographer Lieve De Bruyn . The photographs are captures of the artist, made by photgrapher Ronald Stoops. The photographs are printed on large canvasses. De photographs and the moving images interfere in the space. Overlapping layers occur. The spatial concept involves the spectator inside the work. Moving between the transparent images, he observes his own shadow as a personage in ZONE .
ZONE is a thin twilight zone spread between the living and the dead in which one can  get lost or drown on one’s own. In this very same ZONE mysterious transmutations occur, transmutations which cannot be explained nor documented; only a work of art can reveal them for a fleeting moment.
